My Story

Connie Amarel was born and raised in Ohio and now lives in California with her family and pets. She has worked as an editor, proofreader, and transcriptionist, as well as a typist for other authors. Gifted in poetry, her work has been published by many organizations. Connie's love of poetry began at an early age and she believes that rhyme is a valuable educational tool for children. She also believes that imagination holds the key to the future and that this needs to be cultivated at a young age as well. All of Connie's books deal with different issues that children face and each book teaches a valuable lesson. The Gary Grasshopper series of books are all written using alliteration. Connie's book, "I Wonder Why: A Poem For Children" has been listed in a teacher's resource guide written by Adrienne Gear titled, "Nonfiction Reading Power: Teaching Students How to Think While They Read All Kinds of Information." https://www.amazon.com/author/connieamarel

So honored to be standing next to one of the most wonderful persons to ever grace this earth! He's also the best clubhouse manager ever and most deservedly was recently inducted into the Inaugural Class of MLB Clubhouse Managers Association Hall of Fame with a plaque honoring him in Cooperstown! Always putting my cookies out for the players, he's the reason I got to throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch and have been their Cookie Lady for the past 30+ years! Love you Vuc!

In addition to the 18 children’s books Connie has written, she also has written 2 country music songs:  Crows Feet and I Wish I Had a Hotline to Heaven. Both songs have been taken from Pitch to Publisher on the Nashville Songwriters website of which Connie is a member.
